Welcome to our Intermediate Grammar class. So today, we will learn about the ‘Continous Tense‘.
I ll make it simple by saying that Continous means SEDANG.
So, if you want to say something which is being happened, this tense is the requirement.
I will directly show you the 3 of basic tenses connected to the continuous condition.
PRESENT CONTINUOUS TENSE
PAST CONTINUOUS TENSE
FUTURE CONTINUOUS TENSE
Look at the dialogue below:
Annie: “Hi, Susan. What were you doing last night when I called you?”
Susan: “Hmm.. I was cooking dinner. Sorry. How is it about, dear?
Annie: “I am being confuse right now, Susan.”
Susan: “Will you be being confuse forever? Tell me now.”
Annie: “I am telling you the truth, but promise me you won’t be cheap mouth?
Susan: “I am trusted one since you are my savior when I am being hungry, hehe”
Annie: “I saw my grandma was dancing, last night and it was breathtaking”
Susan: “Why? May be she was being happy“
Annie: You know what? Someone is dating her recently. I am shocked!
Susan: ” Haha… You are not shocking, Beib! You are just being jealous because you are still being single until now”
As you can see, the using of Continuous tense are intense and precise. It helps us to be clearer with the time used.
